ABOUT KENDALL BUCKLEY
Kendall is a queer therapist and sexologist offering LGBTQIA+, FLINTA, kink-aware, non-monogamy, and neuroaffirming therapy for individuals and relationships online across Australia. Kendall also provides PMDD therapy and support for people experiencing Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, informed by both her Master’s research and clinical experience.
Kendall Buckley is a Clinical Nurse Consultant and Sexologist who works exclusively with the FLINTA and LGBTQIA+ community, and close allies. In private practice since January 2023, Kendall offers sex, relationship, and general therapy in a space that is affirming, culturally attuned, and free from the need for patients to explain who they are.
Kendall has been a registered nurse since 2018 and holds a Master of Sexology from Curtin University. Her background in clinical nursing informs a steady, evidence-based approach to care, while her training in sexology shapes the depth and nuance of her work with intimacy, identity, and relationships.
Her practice centres primarily on AFAB, non-binary, gender-diverse, queer and sapphic clients. Kendall is particularly known for her work in sapphic relationship dynamics, gender exploration, sexuality, and supporting clients navigating non-monogamy, kink, BDSM, and sex work. Many clients seek her out not only for sex and relationship therapy, but for general therapy with a queer clinician who understands the cultural, social, and interpersonal contexts shaping their lives.
Kendall’s therapeutic approach is grounded in humanistic and feminist frameworks and informed by formal training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and the Gottman Method. She practices from a trauma-informed and neuroaffirming lens. While her specialisation is in gender and sexuality, this naturally extends into significant experience supporting autistic and ADHD clients, reflecting the high prevalence of neurodivergence within queer communities. Her work is collaborative, adaptable, and responsive to the individual rather than guided by a fixed model.
Kendall also has a special interest and expertise in Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD). PMDD was the focus of her Master’s research, where she conducted an extensive literature review examining its aetiology, diagnosis, and treatment gaps in current clinical guidelines. Alongside this academic work, Kendall brings both personal lived experience and professional clinical experience supporting clients with PMDD. This allows her to offer informed, compassionate, and practical support for those navigating the cyclical emotional, relational, and psychological impacts of the condition.
Clients frequently describe Kendall’s style as candid, warm, and practical. She values therapy that is relational and effective where clients feel understood as whole people rather than problems to be solved.
Alongside her clinical work, Kendall is an active contributor to public conversations about sex, relationships, and queer lives. She is a regular host of All Things Queer on RTRFM and has appeared on podcasts including Turns Out We're Gay and JOY FM. Her work has been featured in The Sydney Morning Herald, Body+Soul, The House of Wellness, and DIVA Magazine (UK).
Kendall is committed to providing therapy that is evidence-based, deeply respectful of lived experience, and grounded in the realities of queer, trans, and gender-diverse lives. Her aim is to create a therapeutic space where clients feel safe to be honest, supported to be curious, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their relationships with themselves and others.
